This is an ad for US Marines Corps that I worked on as a freelance FX artist at Framestore. The following are the specific shots I worked on:
00:08-00:10: Collapsing background buildings
- I modified and animated a setup created by FX TD.
- Buidling placement and animation under lead guidance.
- Rendered the different passes for buildings, smoke and debris.

00:14-00:17: Shifting plants
- Animated plants using cloth simulation techniques.
- Modified "pin FX" growth effect set up by FX TD to control timing and speed by painting the appropriate attributes on the plant geometry.

00:49-00:53: Kilometer-scale volumetric fog
Explored different techniques for creating large scale sea fog while remaining within memory constraints. I settled for creating a low-resolution VDB with a noise for the general shapes, and a shader-based noise for finer details in Mantra.
